| wow, i can't remember the last time i wrote on here...so much has changed in my life that if i updated you all on everything, this blog would be several pages long anyways, i'm no longer using xanga, as i'm sure you can see...the format is too confusing, i'm not the same person i was when i started it (or ended it over a year ago), and there are more important things going on in my life i do have a new, more mature blog that i've started, which you can read if you still want updates on my life www.tlithaqum.blogspot.com i will leave this xanga up for a little while longer, but i plan on saving all of the old posts on here and on blindedbyhim, and then deleting both may God bless each and every one of you! | | |
| blog entry for sara hill what what? i'm really missing this thing, so i might start using it again...i dunno though, i might not have time hmmm... btw, to those of you who cared enough to leave a comment on the post below back in august, my grandpa is doing fantastic...he is still going through some therapy, but it was a miracle that he came out of the stroke with very few side effects...the worst thing though is that he is extremely tired all the time, so raising the boys has been a challenge...but he is an extremely strong man and loves the Lord with all of his heart, so he relies on Him for strength :) thanks again to all those who prayed/have been praying! now about using xanga again... any thoughts? | | |

I know I haven't updated on here in a while, but I have a very urgent prayer request.
I've been up all night, and I'm sending this message to everyone.
At 2:30 am this morning my Grandma
Barbara (actually more like a step-Grandma) called to tell us that my
Grandpa had a stroke. They took him to the hospital and as of about an
hour ago he was okay but still unable to talk in coherent sentences. He
is only 68 years old, and Barbara's grandchildren, whose mom (her
daughter) is a crackhead and in jail all the time, are now under their
custody. At 65 years old, he took on the job of raising 2 little boys
he has no relation to whatsoever.
My grandpa is an amazing, Godly man who I have a very close
relationship with, and I'm really worried. I know that RJ and John (the
2 boys) need him to stick around because he's the only dad they've got.
On my myspace, under "Heroes" he is listed there. PLEASE be in prayer
for him and all of them. If the situation doesn't improve, I'll prob.
be driving up to Columbus (Ohio, where they live and where all my
family is from) in a few days with my family. Also, its not as
important, but before they called I was already awake because I was
throwing up all night long from food poisoning. I still feel awful and
my stomach is hurting me so much, but I wanted to let everybody know
about this as soon as I could. I don't care about prayers for me
though, just pray for him...his name is James Hill.
Thank you SO MUCH!!!! I know there are some amazing prayer warriors out
there who can help me pray my Grandpa through this.
God bless you!

Hey hey hey! Sup ya’ll?
Gosh you guys, it seems like I haven’t been on here in forever!!! So sorry about that :-\
been uber busy, even though its summer time!
I have decided NOT to continue the Beatitudes Post-Series for now…I didn’t get any comments on the first one, and I still feel like there is a lot more God wants to teach me before I share with others…I may do it when I get back in August…I’m gonna work on all of them while in Guatemala
Just got back from Ichthus Festival 2006 in Wilmore, KY (where Asbury is!) from July 14-18…in case you’ve never heard of it, check out www.ichthusfestival.org
It’s the longest running Christian music festival there is, and it is, of course, the best!!! Over 130 artists/bands are there, and over 12,000 people come every year….people camp out in tents over 111 acres of field! All of my favorite artists were there, and I took tons of pictures…some of them are already uploaded on my facebook if you want to go look at them…I ran out of room on my digi-cam, and had to buy a disposable, and those still need printed, then I’ll scan them in and put them on there! Here’s a sneak preview of one of the bands that was there:

^ that’s Matthew Theissen, lead singer of…RELIENT K!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one of my friends from Asbury grabbed my camera, ran up to the stage, and took that picture for me! If you zoom in on the camera, you can see his nose hairs! Its AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
this was my first time to go to Ichthus, and it was a blast, even though it was hot and tiring and I got kinda sick on the way home…but it was totally worth it! if you’ve never been, then grab a tent and some camping gear and head on up there next year!!!!
In other news, I leave for Guatemala in 11 DAYS!!!! Aaahhhhhh, I’m so excited, and kinda nervous too…but I’m def. ready to go =o) except for all the stuff I have to pack…ay yi yi
So, I’m working on Spanish…no, like, seriously studying Spanish…I’m practically memorizing the dictionary, plus those 2 books up there ^…and I found a great website with resources to use, like practice worksheets and tests and stuff, and it seems to be helping a lot…I’m remembering so much of what I had forgotten…I’m also praying about living at a Spanish language school for missionaries next summer, so I can really really learn Spanish in a Bible-based setting
I’m also reading a book called Changes That Heal (see top of this post) by Dr. Henry Cloud…Josh McDowell said that reading this book changed his life more than reading any other that he’s ever read…so far, I have to agree with him…I see why…I would recommend any Christian or non-Christian to read it…the way he brings psychology OUT of Scripture is amazing, and has opened my eyes to how the Bible was written to impact every aspect of our lives, not just spiritual…so many things can be found in just one verse, and Dr. Cloud does a wonderful job of interpreting it in order to show how Jesus heals our deep down hurts
…which is going to take some time…I’m really broken, and I know I may stay that way for awhile…but I have to go through this, and even though its hard, I understand why…and God is GOOD…He knows what He’s doing, and I’m thankful for it…He knows the hurts and pain and anger and everything I have inside, and He’s determined to get it out of me…and to really heal me….so okay God, whatever it takes…I know you can’t truly fix me until I’m truly broken
Anywho, if you wanna get together with me before I go to Guatemala, just holla atcha girl!!!
I won’t be able to bring my laptop with me down there (which stinks) b/c they don’t have public internet access for people coming in…however, I do get a day off each week (I’ll be there 5 weeks) and I can go to Guatemala City, about 35 mins. away, if I want to on those days…and they have internet cafes there, so I will try to keep everybody updated on my xanga with whats happenin’ while I’m there!
oh, i forgot...i'm preaching/giving a sermon this sunday at the home church...the pastor (which i think is quite ironic) is about to start a sermon series on the Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes (i seriously had no idea of that when i had wanted to do my Beatitudes post-series) and he asked me to talk about being the Salt and Light of the World since i'm goin to Guatemala and stuff...i was like, heck ya...but anyways, if anybody wants to come, you are more than welcome...we're also having a big feast afterwards (potluck kind of thing)...if anyone needs directions and stuff, lemme know =o)
Okay, I think that about wraps this post up…
I’ll try to update on here more often…I still love my xanga lots and lots!!!
Hope everybody has a good week…I’m going to swim and get some sun and try to relax before I leave, and visit lots of old ladies who are in the hospital from my church who i love, and help take care of baby Nathanael and his new baby brother Benjamin!!! =o)
I love you guys!!!
Dios les bendiga por este semana y siempre <3
